Okay. I just discovered this track. You know how euphoric a great discovery makes you feel? Almost childlike. For me, this is a great discovery. Sit back, turn on your speakers and prepare yourself for an amazing track with an amazing progression. It begins with a psychill intro and completes the circle by ending with psychill too. That’s all I needed for closure. I really didn’t expect it to pick up. And then out of nowhere, a typical (but effective) deep house beat kicks in. Digitally minimilastic and classy this track is. Also, I have decided to add label names under each track on my website. I recently found out the importance of a track’s record label. Knowing a track’s label is incredibly helpful if you want to find similar music by other artists, more remixes and similar albums. So labels are the niche of genres. Plus, it’s good to give them credit. If you are like me, you probably weren’t aware of how significant record labels are until now.

Today has been such a lovely day. A friend of mine messaged me and told me that I should update my website more often because she listens to the music on it everyday during work (and that’s what keeps her going). My day was going pretty smooth already but her telling me this just made it better. Knowing the fact that someone actually listens to the music on it everyday makes me want to update it more often. So I went ahead and added around 8 songs!

Owing to the fact that I have been listening to a lot (and unreasonable) amounts of deep house lately, most of the tracks I recently uploaded on the website are, well, yes you guessed right… under the EDM section with 2 glitchy tracks by the young and talented Clozee.

Hello everyone! I have been really into Oliver Rado lately. Most of his music is very smooth, usually with a guitar or a piano sample. Nostalgic; Melancholic… With a beautiful progression that gradually grows into you. Most of Rado’s tracks are deep house, but this one comes under the chillout section. The tag for this track on Soundcloud says ‘Lost In Translation.’ I am guessing it refers to the movie. Alright fellas Metaphorical Journeys has undergone a few changes. It’s been a while since I have updated this blog but I finally got down to it! First of all, the theme is completely different. I will be posting a lot of songs from Soundcloud and will try to write more frequently. Also, I am still trying to figure out how to merge my website and my blog. But that’s for later.

As for now, instead of featuring artists I will post single songs. It makes it much easier for me since I don’t have to wait to compile songs under one artist. Plus, it enables frequent updates, more variety of songs for your’ll to listen to and some added fun :)

When I listen to Solar Fields, the first thing that comes to my mind is that THIS IS LIFE. Solar Fields’ music is liberating and unthinkably inspiring. Solar Fields is the electronic music project of Magnus Birgersson, a music composer and graphic designer from Sweden. He built a unique sound universe by exploring the wide possibilities of ambient, atmospheric, deep, ecstatic, industrial yet organic, cultivating contrasts and subtlety with brio. Before starting Solar Fields in 2001, Magnus has been involved in many projects since a teenager, playing drums, percussion, piano, keyboards, for various bands.

As a “high tech” sound designer (sampling, sequencing, morphing, programming) and multi-instrumentalist (sitar, veena, guitars), Magnus collaborated with several art galleries and museums. His latest sound installation at Trabekel (Sandviken, Spring 2004) met a great success: in synchronization to the work of pictorial artist Antonio Sognasoldi, he presented four pieces which could be played simultaneously and evolve depending on the position of the visitor in the gallery.

Magnus Birgersson signed with Ultimae Records and released in 2001 his debut album, Reflective Frequencies. In November 2005, the two albums Leaving Home and Extended were released, the latter being a limited edition. These albums are receiving excellent comments from the media, opening new horizons for Magnus and his true visionary work.

Next Solar Fields’ album was Earthshine, issued in 2007. It was followed in 20 January 2009 byMovements. This album contains his most popular track, “Sol”.

For much of 2008, Magnus has been working on the soundtrack for the Electronic Arts video game Mirror’s Edge, which was issued on 19 May 2009. In 26 July 2010 a new album entitled Altered - Second Movements was released. In the same year, it saw the light the album Origin # 01.
